  • 17 markets
  • 550 quant and 55 qual iInterviews

Objectives

  • Gather insight from gaming developers and publishers across international markets
  • Build a comparable view of attitudes across key gaming regions
  • Combine quantitative scale with qualitative depth
  • Deliver local-language insight from a specialist and globally distributed audience

Methodology

This study combined quantitative online interviews with qualitative phone-based depth interviews. The quantitative phase used 15-minute online interviews with gaming developers and publishers across 17 markets. RONIN managed sample targeting, questionnaire programming, survey hosting, local-language translation, and full delivery of translated and coded qualitative materials, supported by summary reporting.

    global regions

The quantitative study covered 17 markets across North America, Europe, and APAC, with market-level sample sizes ranging from 15 to 90 interviews. The qualitative phase was conducted across the same broad regions, with interviews completed in the USA, UK, Germany, India, China, South East APAC, and Russia/Belarus.

Challenge

The study required reaching a specialist audience across a fragmented international gaming ecosystem, while maintaining consistency across markets, languages, and methodologies. Combining quantitative and qualitative delivery across multiple regions also required careful coordination to preserve comparability and quality throughout the project.

How RONIN approached it

RONIN used a mixed-method approach combining online interviews, phone-based qualitative interviewing, and targeted digital recruitment to reach developers and publishers across a wide set of markets. Local-language translation was provided in 12 languages, and all qualitative content was translated, coded, and summarised to support consistent cross-market analysis.

Results

The study provided the client with a structured international view of perspectives across gaming development and publishing. By combining quantitative breadth with qualitative depth, RONIN delivered a more complete picture of this specialist audience across regions, helping the client compare market-level responses while also understanding the context behind them.
